Joint headquarters disaster response drill in the General Medical Zone (Tokushima University Hospital and Tokushima Prefectural Central Hospital)

On October 5 (Saturday) 2019, a joint headquarters disaster response drill was held in the General Medical Zone (Tokushima University Hospital and Tokushima Prefectural Central Hospital). In the joint training conducted by both hospitals, over 160 staff members from Tokushima University Hospital and about 30 simulated patients impersonating university students participated. The acceptance of patients was determined by communication between the disaster response headquarters headed by Hospital Director Shoji Kami and the Tokushima Prefectural Central Hospital. In a constantly developing situation, patients were transported by the medical bridge connecting the two hospitals and by ambulances and were directed to each area according to their symptoms. Through these drills, the effectiveness of the communication and medical system in the event of a large-scale disaster was confirmed.
