“World Patient Safety Day: Project 2023”
On September 15, 2023 (Fri.), events to raise awareness about “World Patient Safety Day” were held on the amenity terrace on the first floor of the Outpatient Clinic at the University of Tokushima Hospital.
World Patient Safety Day was established by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2019, and its purpose is “to promote patient safety through global collaboration and action by WHO member countries.” Events to raise awareness have been held on September 15 throughout Japan. This year, events were held at the University of Tokushima Hospital under the theme of “Engaging patients for patient safety” and the slogan of “Elevate the voice of patients!” The events were attended by large numbers of patients and medical staff.
Events to raise public awareness
・Mini-concert (performers: The University of Tokushima Symphony Orchestra)
・Lighting ceremony (in cooperation with the Tokushima Prefectural Office and Tokushima Prefectural Central Hospital)
・Display of the campaign color (orange) by medical staff at the University of Tokushima Hospital
・Informing the public through posters and pamphlets
・Tokupon, the official mascot of the University of Tokushima, was made the Director of the Safety Management Department for a day
These events were sponsored by Tokushima Prefecture, Tokushima Prefectural Central Hospital, and the Tokushima Prefecture Nursing Association.
