The forum consisted of two parts: “A Positive Mind and Body: Dementia, Mental Health, and Dental Health” and “Cancer and Locomotive Syndrome.”
In the first session, under the theme “A Positive Mind and Body: Dementia, Mental Health, and Dental Health,” we presented lectures on topics such as dementia medications, mental health—including the differences between dementia and depression—and the relationship between pain and mental well-being.
In addition, during the segment titled “Hospital Services Up To Date: Useful Services at Tokushima University Hospital,” we introduced various services that are helpful when visiting our hospital, such as the My Number health insurance card and electronic prescriptions, as well as the patient support app Welconne and Awa Ai Net.
In Part 2, under the theme of “Cancer Locomo*,” we presented on key points for maintaining an independent lifestyle after a cancer diagnosis. This included an explanation of Cancer Locomo, case studies of bone metastases and neurological conditions, and lectures on radiation therapy and rehabilitation.
(*Cancer Locomo refers to a condition in which a cancer patient’s mobility is impaired due to musculoskeletal disorders.)
A total of 550 attendees joined us on the day, and the forum concluded successfully.
